I have over 20 years of HR experience across employee relations, people and organisational development.
In 2007, I took a career break from my role as a Senior HR Advisor to home school our son* following his permanent exclusion from school. During this time, I realised that there were people in their forties and fifties whose lives were still marginalised by social exclusion. After some thought, I got a God idea; what if I provided high-quality training and development to the community? I knew immediately it would be called Hope Place. You can read more about my story here
I am focused on designing and executing practical HR solutions that meet people at their point of need to bring change to the communities we work and live.
I worked in the NHS for eight years before being made redundant. I then went onto further my qualification in beauty therapy and completing my NVQ Level 3. During that time, I became a mummy and didn’t want to go back to work, so I set up a mobile beauty therapy service for two years.
After a while, I realised my baking hobby was a real passion for me. Long story short, I gave up beauty therapy and, I went into the cake baking business firstly with a friend, and I now have my cake making business called Love Kakes. I work with Dawn on investigations and projects using my strengths of organisation and creativity to enhance the services we deliver.
Together, we are working with organisations and individuals to bring effective solutions. Whether we are working with corporate clients or an individual who desperately needs help, or delivering online learning to newly unemployed people, it is an opportunity to deploy our expertise and bring hope. We call that a win-win.
