Annual Leave and Sickness

I’ve seen enough people fall foul of their sickness absence policy by failing to report sick on time (or at all) when they become unwell while on annual leave.

Some potential consequences for the employee include explaining why they did not report sick on time to their manager. If the employee cannot convince their manager, they may lose the ability to take annual leave at a different time – an annoyance, to put it mildly. Or the employee may face conduct proceedings.

All of this stress and hassle is entirely avoidable. Read the policy and procedure and report sickness absence on time even while on annual leave.
